Transforming Youth Recovery has identified a set of 38 community-based assets that are the basis for building collegiate recovery capacity across the nation. These assets reflect the potential college-specific individuals, associations and institutions that can be mobilized to help students in recovery to thrive in the fullness of the college experience.
To assist communities engaging in early and later stage collegiate recovery efforts, the assets have been categorized according to importance throughout a recovery community lifecycle.
- The 11 assets that are critical to starting any collegiate recovery effort.
- The 14 additional assets that are essential to serve and support students in recovery.
- The 13 assets that can contribute to the community of students in recovery.
These categories reflect findings from a 2013 survey of self-identified collegiate recovery programs operating in the United States.
